Pinda Swedais a ayurvedic massage made with warm medicinal herbs and herbs and bags – the Indian word is bolus. These are small bags made of linen. The herbs are carefully selected, sliced and tied in different combinations depending on the client's body type and health status. The next step is the plants are immersed in warm oils and are purposefully placed on the patient's body.
As part of the preparation, the leaves of the medicinal plants for their intended use are placed in a pan and heated well. Also, herbs can be immersed in oils that are heated at a constant temperature. Once the bolus is warm enough, it is rubbed carefully over the joints and other parts of the patient's body.
The bolus must be quickly replaced with another after it has cooled to maintain a moderately high temperature at the treated site. After the treatment is over, the treated parts are wiped with paper or a sterile cloth cloth dipped in warm salt water.
