Can Ayurveda heal the seborrhea?

13.09.2019

Ayurveda (the devanagari: The Science of Life) is a traditional, indigenous medical system that originated in India. Today, it is successfully practiced not only there, but in many other parts of the world, as complementary medicine, because of its ability to increase the individual’s own defenses.

Ayurveda believes in five elements: Earth, water, fire, air and space, which make up the universe and the human body. Plasma, blood, meat tissues, fats, bones, bone marrow and semen are thought to be the seven basic constituents of the body that correspond to the above mentioned elements.

Ayurveda has successfully worked with many health conditions that conventional medicine still considers incurable. This is also the case with seborrheic dermatitis – a condition of the skin whose typical symptoms are red patches covered with bright yellowish and oily flakes. Usually there is no itching, but it does occur. Yeast fungal skin microbes , also called “Malassezia” , and a weak immune system are thought to contribute to its development. But hormonal imbalance and stress can also exacerbate symptoms.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic, non-contagious skin inflammation that may have long periods of improvement and others in which the problem may increase.

Symptoms of seborrheic dermatitisseborrhea

When it comes to seborrheic dermatitis , it should be noted that it also appears in babies, also known as gneisses on the head . Here, too, it is found in areas that contain a large number of fatty glands, such as the face, scalp, and even skin folds in the diaper area.

In adults, this condition, in addition to the scalp, also occurs along the hairline, between the eyebrows, on the cheeks, and especially in the folds of the skin that go from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth.

Seborrheic dermatitis can spread to other parts of the body, often over the sternum and spine, but skin folds under the breast, in the armpit or groin can also be affected. In men, spots can sometimes appear in the genital area.

Foods to combat seborrheic dermatitis

The benefits of seawaterSeawater benefits

For all types of skin problems, but especially for seborrheic dermatitis, we can see great improvements with seawater. Summer can be a good season to reduce symptoms, especially if you are standing outdoors. Sea and sun baths are moderately recommended for improving seborrhea as they eliminate excess fat from the skin and scalp .

If you can’t go for a swim in the sea, you can also take seawater and apply it directly to your skin after a shower, leaving it to dry naturally. (You will find it in specialty stores or pharmacies.)

Beer May

This gorgeous, healthy, delicious (maybe not for everyone), natural supplement helps us to cure many ailments and aesthetic problems , including on the skin. This is because it acts as a cleanser, eliminates toxins that accumulate in the skin, and soothes conditions such as psoriasis, stretch marks and more.

You can start your day with applesauce, carrots, celery and brewer’s yeast powder or flakes; or take a tablespoon of beer yeast mixed with water or juice every morning. You can also mix one tablespoon with apple cider vinegar and melt roast potatoes for lunch in this mixture.

Other dietary recommendations

To improve the condition of seborrheic dermatitis, it is strongly recommended to eliminate from your diet all refined sugars, saturated fat, fried foods, sweets and other processed foods as they always increase the problem.

Vitamins help to improve the symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis. Beta-carotene is a precursor antioxidant to vitamin A and in addition to carrots, it can be found in other foods such as: valerian, spinach, dandelion, etc. Beta-carotene is a component that can be beneficial not only for those who suffer from seborrhea, but also atopic dermatitis. It can be used externally to treat skin problems because it facilitates the absorption of Vitamin A, which is an essential vitamin for healthy skin. Vitamin A deficiency is thought to cause seborrhea.

Consume spirulina, beer yeast and wheat germ daily because they are rich in minerals, vitamins, especially group B, and enzymes that help to strengthen the skin and boost the immune and nervous systems.
