Treatment of conjunctivitis with Ayurveda

Definition

Conjunctivitis means inflammation of the conjunctiva, the mucous membrane that protects the eyelids and covers the white of the eyeball. It is a contagious disease that can spread quickly.

Symptoms

Symptoms of conjunctivitis are redness, letting out, burning and many times itching and sensitivity to light. It may appear on one or both eyes. Has difficulty keeping eyes open for long periods.

The conjunctivitis is called Netra Abhishyandam in Ayurveda, which means inflammation of the eye. It usually heals automatically within a few days and if the condition lasts longer, it needs medical attention.

Causes of conjunctivitis

  •  Bacterial or viral infections can cause conjunctivitis
  •  Conjunctivitis may also occur due to a hypersensitive reaction of the conjunctiva to substances such as dust, pollen, etc.

Types of conjunctivitis

Allergic conjunctivitis

Most horras develop allergic conjunctivitis because they are allergic to one substance or another. In general, allergic conjunctivitis affects both eyes.

Bacterial conjunctivitis

This is caused by bacteria called staphylococci or streptococci. The way this disease is transmitted is usually through the skin of an infected person who may be infected by the substances in the air.

Viral conjunctivitis

Adenovirus causes viral conjunctivitis. This is carried because of the common cold. Those who have flu and pneumonia can develop this type of conjunctivitis. It is highly contagious and therefore people with viral conjunctivitis should take care of it by taking enough precautions to prevent it from spreading to others.

Other types of conjunctivitis are:

  •  xerophthalmia
  •  Chemical conjunctivitis
  •  Giant papillary conjunctivitis

Ayurvedic treatment with conjunctivitis herbs

 

  • Wash your eyes with freshly prepared coriander extract in water. Reduces burning sensation, pain and swelling.
  •  Granny Leaf Paste and can be applied to the eyes overnight. Relieves pain and swelling.
  •  Chirchite paste, when applied to the eyes, reduces inflammation.
  •  Nyem can be applied to the eyes and reduce pain.
  •  Prajmoda juice, when mixed with carrot juice and applied externally to the eyes, works well to combat conjunctivitis.
  •  Chandi milk would provide a soothing effect on the eyes and reduce inflammation.
  •  Rose-paste mixed with butter and alum will relieve the painful symptoms of conjunctivitis. This paste should be applied externally to the eyelids.
  •  Tulsi leaveshave the power to reduce inflammation.
  •  Trifal lotion should be used to wash eyes suffering from conjunctivitis
  •  Triphala Churnais good for reducing inflammation
  •  Chandroyati Vati is a tonic that can improve allergy resistance.

Prevention of conjunctivitis in Ayurveda

Ayurveda insists on personal hygiene for good health. Wash your eyes regularly after going back outside. Clothes should be kept clean and clean. Articles such as towels, combs, pillows, sleeping mats and soaps should not be shared with others to prevent infectious diseases such as conjunctivitis.

Treatment of conjunctivitis with Ayurveda medicine

As stated by Ayurveda, the conjunctivitis (netrabhisyanda) is for the most part caused by impedance of pita and coffee doshas.Netra implies eye, while abhishyanda implies wetland. The eye is the dwelling place of the fire component (pita), but if the kafa dosha (water component) breaks into the eye, it begins to attack the fire component of the eye and turns it into a wet zone. As a result, it affects eye health, causing redness, watery emissions, yellow discharge and swelling. This is called netrabhishyanda.

Conjunctivitis can occur due to viral or bacterial contamination. It may be additionally caused by hypersensitivity reactions activated by substances such as dust, cosmetics or certain chemicals. It can also be due to a problem with the immune system. There are numerous allergens that can also trigger conjunctivitis. Eye makeup,  Contact coordinates, mascara, face powders are some of these allergenic substances that can cause conjunctivitis.

Diet and lifestyle tips

Conjunctivitis is commonly found in India against the backdrop of stormy weather when there is a collection of humidity or water in the air – the perfect area for disease to thrive. You must avoid the potential risk of aversion and alleviation of this problem.

The eyes should be washed with clean water and wiped with a clean cloth to prevent contamination. The use of cloths or cloths to clean the eyes must be protected from contamination as well.

Home remedies

Soak ½ teaspoonfuls of triphal powder in a glass overnight and pass it through 4 folded materials at the beginning of the day. Use this water to wash your eyes.

Boil 1 tablespoon of coriander seed powder or 1 small bowl of recently cut coriander leaves in 2 cups of water. Reduce it to half and let it cool. Use this answer to wash your eyes 3-4 times each day.

Take some high heat water and 3 teaspoons of nectar. Blend well. Wash your eyes twice a day.
