Based on five thousand years of human experience, Ayurveda is actually the oldest and most comprehensive of all medical science we know. Literally the word Ayurveda means "science of life" and it is a holistic Indian doctrine which reveals properties of herbs, food, spices, gems, colors, yoga, mantras, lifestyle. This huge, ancient knowledge of natural health is given to us by holy men called Rishis and supports us from birth to death. It is believed that the methods of Ayurveda have come to us by divine revelation – theories and tests on animals were not needed.
 
There are eight branches of Ayurvedic system, internal medicine, ear nose throat, toxicology, pediatrics, surgery, psychiatry, aphrodisiacs, rejuvenation. This makes the science of life so complete and overwhelming – it can be applied to absolutely any physical and spiritual problems.
 
Practitioners recognize three states of energy and results in blending into the fabric five elements: ether, air, fire, water and earth. In turn, the elements are mixed in the composition of the human body and shape up the three doshas, ​​which is the Sanskrit term for a form of biological energy. Everyone has a unique combination of the three doshas: Vata (air and ether), Pita (fire and water) and kapha (water and earth).
