The ancient Vedic medicine believes that the accumulation of “Ama” (toxic substances in the body), unsuitable nutrition, poor digestion, insufficient sleep, pollution and stress lead to imbalance in the body and thus to ill health.
In order to restore the balance and the balance in the body, Ayurvedic doctors resort to complex treatment methods, combining various therapies for detoxification, Ayurvedic massages, observing a certain diet, taking herbal, organic products, oils and other natural products for treatment.
The treatment and medicinal products that apply in Ayurveda are based on the fundamental knowledge of the three doshas (Kapha, Vata and Pitta) that form the basis of the human constitution.
The choice of medicinal products depends on which of the doshas is in an imbalance. Therefore, it is important for the patient to undergo an ayurvedic examination before taking any specific measures to balance the doshas.
What does the Ayurvedic examination consist of?
The easiest answer is many different things! Unlike modern medicine, where the patient undergoes various medical tests to determine where and what the health problem is, Ayurveda uses complex diagnostic methods that include pulse diagnostics, in-depth patient consultation, and more.
The aim of the specialist is to determine what is not only the health, but also the emotional state of the person against them, what is their dosha, what are their needs. For Vedic medicine, it is of great importance not only to cure the disease already emerging, but also to take preventative measures to avoid imbalance. The examination is also important in order for the Ayurvedic doctor to make the right diagnosis and to appoint the most effective treatment.
According to Ayurveda, equilibrium and balance in the body is recovering in several ways:
- with proper diet that the Vedic physician is developing specifically for the patient according to their individual constitution;
- with detoxifying therapies with herbal and natural oils designed to purify the body from the accumulated toxins;
- with Ayurvedic massages.

Taliam literally means “something that is oily” and its action, like creams, is done by absorption from tissues.
