Ayurvedic medicine is an ancient science related to human health. It originates from India and has history of over 5000 years. According to its philosophy, one can enjoy optimal health only when one achieves harmony between body, mind and spirit. According to Ayurveda, each person’s body has three energies – Vata, Pitta and Kapha. They are called doshas – our vital energies.

The balance between these three aspects depend on several factors. These are, for example, the way of eating, quality of food and lifestyle. Ayurveda believes that by reducing stress in our daily lives, we can help ourselves in the process of balancing the doshas.

Meditation and practice of Pranayama (controlled breathing technique) can essentially contribute to the elimination of symptoms of psoriasis.

Ayurvedic medicine pays great attention to nutrition. Therefore, it recommends following a heathy diet during the process of treatment of a specific health problem. Ayurvedic therapists recommend everybody to listen to the needs of their body.

In other words, to give the body everything it needs and not to neglect natural needs such as thirst or the need to go to the toilet, because this is not good for health. This is one of the main goals of Ayurveda medicine – to follow the natural cycles of our organism in order to regain the lost balance.

Ayurveda diet excludes the consumption of fatty and fried foods rich is carbohydrates and fats, as well as those with high content of sugar. Ayurvedic practices recommend people to avoid foods that are “extreme”, i.e. too sweet or too salty, too sour or too bitter.

Ayurveda offers various natural methods for treatment of psoriasis. One of the things recommended by Ayurveda for the treatment of psoriasis is the cleanse of toxins by taking herbal extracts. Ayurvedic therapies include various herbal extracts that soothe the symptoms of this skin problem and even heal it completely.
